Atlantic Sturgeon Population & Habitat Use to Inform Infrastructure Improvements (RFP 6030) Program Summary The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks proposals in support of determining a multi-year record of Atlantic sturgeon presence to inform regulatory decision making associated with energy projects within the greater New York City region. NYSERDA seeks to negotiate one contract for acoustic receiver deployment, Atlantic sturgeon tagging, vessel use, data collection and management, receiver loss and data integrity, and data sharing and communication to achieve this goal. The awarded project should operate for at least five years. Program Requirements NYSERDA requests a qualified proposer to: Deploy a minimum of three hundred (300) acoustic tags on New York Bight DPS Atlantic sturgeon over the first two years of the project;Collaborate with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and other researchers maintaining existing acoustic receivers to determine locations for up to 10 new receivers in the New York Harbor and surrounding waterways; Manage data collection for a minimum of 5 years;Ensure that data is publicly available by following the data sharing portion of the proposal below and all data QA/QC procedures; and Submit a final technical report to NYSERDA
