Overview

The ASN Student Research Award supports innovative research by student members, promoting the integration of ecology, evolution, and behavior. With ten awards available, proposals will be evaluated based on originality, significance, and alignment with the ASN mission. Eligible applicants must be ASN members, hold a bachelor’s degree, and be at least one year away from completing their PhD. This initiative encourages diverse research methodologies, including laboratory, field, and theoretical studies.

The ASN is a membership society whose goal is to advance and to diffuse knowledge of organic evolution and other broad biological principles so as to enhance the conceptual unification of the biological sciences.
The ASN Student Research Awards support research by student members that advances the goals of the society: the conceptual unification of ecology, evolution, or behavior. A total of ten proposals will receive awards. Proposals will be judged on originality, strength, and significance of the questions being addressed, prospects for significant results, and the match between the proposed research and the ASN mission.
Projects in all types of research (i.e., laboratory, field, theory) are encouraged.
