  • Research areas: vine mealybug, soil salinity, vine nutrition, irrigation management, frost protection, weather station technology

    Dr. Anna Katharine Mansfield, Associate Director of Cornell AgriTech and Associate Professor of Enology at Cornell University
  • First enologist hired by University of Minnesota
  • Created enology extension program for northern winemakers working with cold-hardy winegrapes
  • Focus on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives
  • Presentation topic: "Would You Rather Be Right or Kind? The Ideal vs. the Real in Enology Extension"
  • Research interests: tannin extraction in red wines, color stability of anthocyanins, protein effects on sparkling wine foam, regional wine identity
