Arts Internship Program NY

Program Mission: Provides students who face structural barriers with paid work experiences and mentorship opportunities in the arts that empower self-identity and help build valuable skills for the future.

Geographic Scope: New York City

Program Duration: 2-year program (fall junior year through spring of senior year + summer)

Target Students:

  • Students passionate about the arts

  • Students facing structural barriers

  • Students from ETA Partner Schools
  • Program Components:

  • Paid internship placements at creative institutions

  • Career exploration and real-world experience

  • Career panels with industry experts

  • Field trips to arts and cultural institutions

  • College prep workshops and college tours

  • Resume writing workshops

  • Guest artist workshops

  • Peer mentorship and training

  • Networking opportunities with other students

  • Personal and creative development support

  • Goal development assistance

  • Application support
  • Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 12 hours per month during school year (October-December and January-May)

  • 48 hours during summer (July)

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be entering 11th grade in fall at an ETA Partner School

  • Be eligible to work in the US

  • Be in good academic standing at your school

  • Be enthusiastic about the arts and personal growth

  • Commit to all program activities from fall through spring, including summer
  • Application Timeline: Applications open in fall (for students currently in 10th grade who will be juniors in the fall)

    Application Materials:

  • Application form including:

  • - Vaccination status
    - Availability for work
    - Most recent report card
  • Series of questions (written or video format)

  • Option to share artwork or creative practice
  • Application Notification: Sign up for email or text notifications through the interest form to be notified when applications open
