Artist Support Grant

Funder: N.C. Arts Council (administered through Wilkes Art Gallery)

Status: Applications currently closed

Purpose: Provide project grants to professional artists in any discipline and at any stage in their careers to pursue projects that further their artistic and professional development

Geographic Scope: Regional consortium serving Wilkes, Watauga, Ashe, and Alleghany Counties, North Carolina

Fundable Project Types:

  • Creation of new work

  • Purchase of equipment and materials

  • Professional development workshops

  • Travel support for professional opportunities (exhibitions, conferences, etc.)

  • Development or upgrading of promotional materials (brochures, DVDs, CDs, websites)

    • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must currently reside in Wilkes County (for Wilkes County applications)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Cannot be currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program

    • Award Range: $500 - $2,500
