The thirteenth annual award (as of 2012) named in honor of Jonathan King, co-founder and first president of ARCC. This award recognizes student excellence in architectural and environmental design research.

- One student per ARCC member school
- Selection at the discretion of individual institutions

- Award may be given at either graduate or undergraduate level

- Innovation in architectural and/or environmental design research
