The Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area (AFNHA) awards Appalachian Forest Major Grants to nonprofit and government partners for projects supporting preservation, interpretation, and tourism development that advance AFNHA goals within its 18-county region (West Virginia and western Maryland). Projects must relate to AFNHA goals/themes and fall within the 18 AFNHA counties. (AFNHA also offers small Mini-Grants, e.g., a WV Association of Museums conference scholarship -- noted, not itemized.)
