APME College Scholarship Program

Overview: The Alabama Associated Press Media Editors offers an annual scholarship to encourage the next generation of multimedia storytellers in the journalism industry.

Award Amount: $1,000 toward education in a communication-related field of study

Geographic Scope: Alabama

Eligibility:

  • Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior

  • Attending an accredited college or university in Alabama

  • Enrolled in a journalism program

  • Maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average

  • Fully complete the application with letter of recommendation from professor, counselor, or media supervisor
  • Application Requirements:

  • Contact information

  • Experience section

  • Web links to 3-5 work samples

  • Work samples must have been printed in college news site/paper OR broadcast on radio, TV, or web in 2017 or Spring 2018

  • If work unavailable on station or college website, can upload via alternate site (YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, etc.)
