• Nomination committee of artists and curators reviews submissions
• Diverse group of artists and curators bring expertise and artistic experience to selection
• Previous nomination committees have included: Shantell Martin, Greg Harris, Wendy Red Star, and Akili Tommasino

Program History

• Initiated in 2020
• 2023-24 recipient: Pao Houa Her (Hmong American artist working with landscape, portraiture, and identity in diasporic communities)
• Previous recipients: Zora J Murff and Tommy Kha
