Annual Meeting Travel Fund - North American Awards Grant

The Annual Meeting Travel Fund - North American Awards provides four annual awards of $800 each to support travel for SEM Annual Meeting presenters residing in North America. Eligible applicants must not be students, must have a presentation abstract accepted for the meeting, and should not have access to other funding. This initiative promotes diverse representation and aids those working part-time or in temporary employment seeking full-time opportunities.

NOTE: After receiving an acceptance of an Annual Meeting presentation abstract, register for the conference and confirm purchase of a current-year SEM membership. Then submit an Annual Meeting Travel Fund Application Form.
Purpose
To provide four annual awards of travel support to SEM Annual Meeting presenters who live in North America (Canada, US, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean).
Awards will be made to individuals who are:

• working part-time but are seeking full-time employment, or working in a temporary position of under one year in duration but are seeking permanent employment.

The Travel Fund Award Committee selects awardees on the basis of the quality of their presentation abstracts. Awardees are also intended to represent diverse geographic regions over time.
Prize
Four awards of $800/each.

Eligibility

Individuals who: live in North America (Canada, US, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean)are working part-time or in a temporary position as defined aboveare not studentshave received an acceptance of their presentation abstract for the Annual MeetingA presentation at a pre-conference or on a special Board-sponsored session does not count as an Annual Meeting abstract acceptancehave registered for the Annual Meeting and hold a current-year SEM membership do not have access to other institutional funding that would cover the costs of travel to the Annual Meeting

Ineligibility

Previous winners must wait three years before reapplying.Applicants for a North American Award cannot also apply for an International Award or a Student Award from the Annual Meeting Travel Fund.
