Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion & Cultural Heritage

A fellowship designed to support professionals in cultural heritage and library/archival fields, with emphasis on diversity and inclusion in the preservation and study of cultural materials.

• Library and archival work
• Special collections
• Digital heritage projects
• African American collections
• Latinx and Hispanic heritage
• Asian Pacific American heritage
• Native American and indigenous collections
• Museum work and conservation

Eligibility: Librarians, archivists, museum professionals, collection development specialists, conservators, and other cultural heritage professionals from underrepresented backgrounds or working with underrepresented communities

2021-23 Fellows: Includes professionals from institutions such as UNC Chapel Hill, UC Santa Barbara, Emory University, UCLA, Smithsonian Libraries, CUNY, University of Texas at Austin, and many others

Note: Separate application required from general scholarships

Application Process

1. Log into your myRBS account or create a new account at myRBS
2. On the Home screen, click the "Apply for a Scholarship or Fellowship" button on the left side
3. Complete the fellowship application form
4. Note: This is a separate application from the general scholarship applications

Deadline: Applications typically due late November (specific dates vary by year; historically November 30)
