AMSNY Scholarship in Medicine

Overview: The AMSNY Scholarship in Medicine aims to reduce financial barriers to attending medical school and develop a physician workforce committed to practicing in medically underserved areas in New York State.

Award Amount: $45,000 (one-year award)

Geographic Scope: New York State

Funding Sources: Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and the New York State Legislature

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or completed an AMSNY post-baccalaureate/master's program

  • Domiciled in New York State

  • Enrolled in medical school for the 2025-26 academic year (or current/future academic years)

  • Committed to working in medically underserved areas in New York State upon completion of medical education
  • Scholarship Goals:

  • Reduce financial barriers to attending medical school

  • Develop a physician workforce committed to practicing in medically underserved areas in New York State
