Overview

The Student Scholars Program is a unique opportunity for a select group of 80-100 motivated individuals who are currently enrolled in or are applying to undergraduate school, graduate school, respiratory therapy training, nursing school and medical school to attend the annual ATS International Conference! Students will benefit from a specially designed curriculum to get the most out of the ATS International Conference, and will be exposed to cutting-edge science, professional education, and focused career development as part of the highly successful Student Scholars Program! Objectives The Student Scholars Program will: Provide students with specific, curated opportunities for exposure to the excitement of the scientific, translational, and clinical information presented at the ATS International Conference.Offer a compelling series of reasons for students to consider a clinical AND/OR a research career in adult or pediatric pulmonary diseases (including processes that affect lung development, injury or repair), critical care, or sleep medicine.Provide career development resources for students interested in learning more about pulmonary, critical care, or sleep medicine.Provide an opportunity to present research at Student Presentations at ATS. SPATS is a 3-minute thesis (3MT) competition where students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. This program will hold two SPATS competitions, gift bags and certificates will be awarded to the winners in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Description Up to 80-100 medical, graduate, respiratory therapy, and nursing students will be accepted and offered FREE registration to the ATS International Conference.Students who accept to be part of this program MUST be willing to do the following:Attend pre-conference webinar.Attend onsite orientation at the international conference.Participate in the mandatory programs scheduled by the MITT Committee.Complete pre- and post-conference evaluations as part of the program.

Eligibility

Ineligibility
