Overview

The American Association for Anatomy offers the Science Communication and Public Engagement Award, recognizing mid-career members for excellence in science communication. This award, which includes a $1,000 honorarium and travel funding, aims to honor those who demonstrate outstanding public engagement efforts in anatomical sciences. Eligible candidates must have at least ten years since their highest degree and two years of continuous membership, showcasing significant contributions to science communication.

NOTE: The nomination is due at the deadline.
Awarded annually to a mid-career member in recognition of outstanding science communication and public engagement efforts in anatomical sciences. These efforts can take various forms, including (but not limited to) public outreach events, public policy advocacy, mass media appearances, and social/online media communication.

This award is not intended for one-off outreach events but instead for a body of work and how they’ve influenced or contributed to the nominee’s academic work.
Two (2) representative samples or other documentation that illustrate the nominee’s contributions to science communication and public engagement.
