American Association for Anatomy: Outstanding Mentor Award Grant

The American Association for Anatomy offers the Outstanding Mentor Award to recognize individuals committed to mentoring in anatomical sciences. This award acknowledges mentors who inspire intellectual growth and provide professional guidance to their mentees. Eligible nominees must have at least ten years post-degree experience and be active members of the association. Award recipients receive a $1,000 honorarium and an additional $1,000 for travel to the Annual Meeting to accept their award.

NOTE: The nomination is due at the pre-proposal deadline. Materials submitted by Nominator will be due on the full proposal deadline.
Recognizes the dedication and impact of members with a sustained career commitment to mentoring through guiding, supporting, and promoting the training and career development of others. The key roles of a mentor include but are not limited to providing career development and professional guidance for the betterment of the mentee’s career, inspiring positive intellectual and personal growth and development in their mentees, and positive personal and professional role modeling.

Eligibility

Must be a current member with at least one (1) year of membership.At least 10 years since completing their highest degree.Nominators must be mentees of the nominee or colleagues who have personal knowledge of the nominee’s mentoring efforts.
