Grants typically range from $250 to $500, with larger amounts considered on a case-by-case basis. Eligible applicants include public or private K-12 schools and universities. The foundation encourages projects that promote alternative fuels and community involvement, with a preference for initiatives that can be completed within a year.

Overview

Our Mission The Alternative Fuel Foundation, Inc.’s mission is to prevent used cooking oil generated by the food service industry from being used in animal feed and instead work with forward thinking companies to process it into clean burning bio-fuel that will later be used to heat homes, fuel vehicles, and power generators. Since biofuel produces near zero emissions every gallon burned offsets carbon that would have been generated from the use of traditional fossil fuels. Proceeds from the waste oil donations made to the foundation are used to fund growth as well as provide grant money to local schools and universities to sponsor projects that help promote our cause and the concept of sustainability. Grant Funds are available for educational institutions to aid in the development of programs that promote renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and earth stewardship. Typical grants range from $250-$500. Larger grants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All applicants will be notified of their status via email approximately 60 days after the application is submitted.
