Summary
The AINA Grant-in-Aid program, established by the Arctic Institute of North America, provides funding of $1000 to support young investigators, particularly graduate students, in their research related to Arctic issues. Eligible applicants must be affiliated with a U.S. or Canadian academic institution. The funding can cover travel, supplies, and equipment but not salaries. The program emphasizes the relevance and quality of research proposals that engage the Arctic community.Overview
About the AINA The mission of AINA is "Advancing Knowledge for a Changing North.” At AINA we work in partnership with northern and Indigenous organizations, researchers, governmental and non-governmental institutions and all others interested in Arctic issues from across Canada and around the world. Our parliamentary mandate is to advance the study of the North American and circumpolar Arctic through the natural and social sciences, the arts and humanities and to acquire, preserve and disseminate information on physical, environmental and social conditions in the North. Grants in Aid Program In 1994 a bi-national committee was established to administer the newly reinstated AINA Grant-in-Aid program. The committee accepts proposals for awards of $1000.00. Awards are aimed at young investigators, especially graduate students, to provide funding to augment their research. Funding can be used for travel, supplies, equipment and services, but not for salary or wages.Eligibility
