Aim Higher Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 student-based scholarship awarded annually

Program Description:
The Aim Higher Scholarship is a renewable scholarship awarded to K-8 students from families with demonstrated financial need. Once a student is awarded the scholarship, they will continue to receive an additional $1,000 scholarship each year up to and through 8th grade as long as the yearly financial aid application continues to show need.

    Geographic Scope

  • Service Area: Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis (12-county Twin Cities metro area)
  • Schools Served: Over 80 Catholic schools in the region

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled in or have plans to apply to grades K-8 in a K-6, K-8, or K-12 Catholic school in the Archdiocese
  • Returning scholars in grades 6, 7, or 8 are eligible if they are enrolled in, transfer to, or plan to enroll in a 6-12 or 7-12 Catholic school
  • Students at 5-12 or 6-12 schools eligible only if in grades 5-8 and awarded scholarship in previous year
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by TADS financial aid application
  • Scholarship follows student year to year if they transfer to another eligible Catholic school in the Archdiocese

    Application Timeline

  • Primary Cycle: November 1, 2025 through February 27, 2026
  • Summer Cycle: May 31, 2026 through August 24, 2026
  • Notification: Late March for primary cycle; rolling basis during summer cycle
  • Award Disbursement: Sent to school after enrollment verification in October

    Key Notes

  • Families fill out only one application to be considered for all available scholarships
  • Students may receive other tuition assistance without affecting eligibility
  • Must reapply each year to remain eligible
  • If scholarship is declined or denied, it returns to the foundation
  • Scholarship does not follow student mid-year transfers

How to Apply

1. Access TADS Portal
- Visit TADS online application platform
- Click on the TADS "Financial Aid Assessment" tab

2. Create/Login to Account
- Create a new account or login to existing account

3. Download Worksheet (Optional but Recommended)
- Download the 2026-27 Financial Aid Worksheet
- Spanish version available
- Complete worksheet before transferring to online form

4. Complete Online Financial Aid Application
- Fill out the 23-section online form
- Enter child's name to apply for Aim Higher Scholarship
- Receive TADS Reference Number upon submission

5. Submit Optional Letter of Special Circumstances
- Available as attachment to TADS application
- Explain changes in financial or personal circumstances

6. Upload Required Documentation
- Most recently filed federal taxes
- W2s
- Recent paystubs
- (Requirements vary by applicant)

7. TADS Review and Audit
- TADS audits application for accurate household need
- May request additional documentation via email or phone

8. Foundation Review
- Application automatically received by Aim Higher Foundation if K-8 school designated
- Foundation and school review application to determine aid
- Notification timeline varies by school
