Overview
American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) International Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship funds promising young Italian scientists to perform basic, translational or clinical cancer research in competitive US labs (nearly 400 scientists / 580 fellowships since 1983). Eligibility: Italian citizens with an advanced degree (PhD, MD or DVM) received no more than 3 years prior to the application (6 years for MDs); applicants already in the US must not have resided there more than 2 years. Each fellowship is one year (a few may be renewed for a second year). Call opens ~January and closes ~end of February; the 2026/2027 cycle is closed with the next cycle opening January 2027. Nationality-gated (flagged); recurs annually. (AICF's Prize for Scientific Excellence and Special Recognition Award are nomination/SAB-recommended recognition prizes, and the breast/prostate screening programs and 'sponsor a screening day' are services/donation asks — all EXCLUDED.)
