AFMA Education Foundation Scholarships - Dependent

Organization: Arizona Food Marketing Alliance (AFMA) Education Foundation

Geographic Scope: Arizona

Purpose: Support education and training for dependents of AFMA member company employees.

    Eligibility

  • Dependent whose parent(s)/guardian(s) are currently employed by an AFMA member company with at least one year of service
  • Parent(s)/guardian(s) employed by AFMA company must reside in Arizona
  • Dependent defined as:
  • - Subject of legal guardianship during minority - Natural or legally adopted child - Under age 26 at the start of the school year
  • Plan to obtain a college degree
  • Carry a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester

    Award Details

  • Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000
  • $5,000 scholarships are funded by member companies and include Legacy Scholarships (Wayne & Sharon Manning, Jim Hensley, Louise & Jim Bob Moffett, Arizona Lottery)
  • Funds can be used for tuition, fees, and textbooks
  • Scholarships are renewable annually - recipients must reapply each year
  • May attend accredited community college, college, or university located in Arizona
  • Incoming freshmen are eligible

Application Process

- Log in to apply

2. Required Materials
- At least one letter of recommendation (dated within the last two years; nothing prior to 2024 accepted)
- Headshot color photo (will be used for promotional purposes including the Arizona Food and Beverage Industry Journal, social media, and website)

3. Application Review
- Applications are scored by a panel of impartial judges
- Scholarships awarded based on scores and Scholarship Review Committee decisions
- Awards based on fundraising levels from the prior year

4. Communication
- All reminders and notifications sent from [email protected] or [email protected]
- Check spam/junk folders for updates

5. Reapplication
- Recipients must reapply each school year for renewal
