Afghan Welcome Fund

Purpose
The Afghan Welcome Fund exists to provide funding to help cover the costs of essential living expenses related to restarting a new life in the US following departure from Afghanistan.- Down payment for rental housing

Eligible Expenses
- Families who departed Afghanistan after August 14, 2021
- Families not currently in the official US Government resettlement process
- Families who had a presence in the US before but were in Afghanistan during the crisis are still eligible
- Not eligible: Families being held for processing on a military base (until they complete the USG resettlement process)
Eligibility
- Funds transferred through PayPal, electronic wire transfers, or check
- Grant requests reviewed on a rolling basis in the order received
- Funds distributed in the order qualified
- Grantees can expect to receive funds within one week of approval
