Program Focus: Parent-child bonding through recreational and outdoor activities

The Fiske Family Foundation awarded $50,000 to the Rancho Family YMCA to support the relaunch of the YMCA Adventure Guides Program. The foundation focuses on creating access to recreational and educational opportunities for all.

Program Purpose

Adventure Guides strengthen the relationship and companionship between parents and young children through:

• Group activities (games, crafts, songs, stories, ceremonies)
• Outdoor pursuits (camping, hiking, swimming)
• One-on-one time in fun, special environments
• Shared experiences that build important bonds
• Digital-free family time in nature
