Advancing Students for a Stronger Economic Tomorrow (ASSET)

Legislation: Colorado House Bill 22-1155: In-state Tuition for Colorado High School Graduates

Purpose: State aid for students who meet specific qualifications regarding Colorado high school graduation and residency

Eligibility:

  • One of the following:

  • - Graduated from a Colorado high school, OR
    - Was physically present in Colorado for at least one year immediately preceding the date the student successfully completed a high school equivalency examination in Colorado
  • AND has been physically present in Colorado for at least 12 consecutive months prior to enrolling in an institution
  • Additional Eligibility:

  • Students who do not have lawful immigration status and who do not meet the above qualifications are also encouraged to apply for institutional aid using the CASFA (Colorado Application for State Financial Aid)
  • Geographic Scope: Colorado residents only

    Application Process

    1. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) to apply for state aid
    2. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for information about your specific eligibility
    3. For students without lawful immigration status, apply using CASFA for institutional aid eligibility
