Overview:
The Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) program is funded by a grant from the Texas Workforce Commission and provides free classes to eligible individuals. AEL provides opportunities for students to acquire the skills needed to enter the workforce, earn a high school equivalency, enter college, and begin training for a career.

Geographic Scope

Service Area: Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone, and McLennan counties in Texas

Program Offerings

Current course offerings include:

General Education Development (GED)

GED high school equivalency exam preparation

Four parts: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies

English Programs

English as a Second Language (ESL) at various language proficiency levels

English for Professionals

TOEFL Test Preparation

Healthcare Certifications

Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Education Paraprofessional Certificate

Manufacturing Certifications

Certified Logistics Technician (CLT)

Certified Production Technician (CPT)

College and Career Preparation

Eligibility Requirements

Student Eligibility:
• At least 16 years old
• Do not have a high school diploma or equivalent, OR
• Need to improve English or basic skills
• Must be legally present in the United States
• Eligible individuals include: U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, and certain other legally admitted non-citizens
• Eligibility documentation may be required

Schedule

Flexible Options:
• Morning classes
• Afternoon classes
• Evening classes
• New classes begin every four weeks
• Orientation sessions held monthly
