Adoption Support Fund

Overview: An in-house grant program administered by Children's Home Society of Minnesota and Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (CH/LSS) that provides financial assistance to help remove barriers to adoption and post-adoption services.

Purpose

The fund recognizes that families may have the means to add a child to their family but lack upfront finances to meet adoption costs. It also assists adoptees and birth parents who wish to access post-adoption services but face financial barriers.

Award Information

Amount: $20 - $10,000
• Smaller grants typically help parents adopting relatives from the Foster Care Adoption program cover expenses not covered by state contracts (background checks, transportation assistance, bedroom setup, etc.)
• Post-adoption grants typically cover the full cost of services such as search and reunion, record retrieval, etc.
