Addressing Health Outcomes for Individuals With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Rare Diseases

Description: PCORI seeks to support high-impact patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) studies focusing on people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or rare diseases.

    Eligibility

  • Applicants do not need to address both intellectual/developmental disabilities AND rare diseases to be considered
  • Can focus on one or both populations

    Research Focus Areas

    PCORI is particularly interested in submissions that address:
  • Improving health outcomes by improving access to patient-centered care
  • Health system approaches to improving care transitions
  • Pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches to improving physical and mental health
  • Addressing the health and well-being of caregivers

    Award Parameters

  • Direct costs up to $12 million
  • Maximum of five years of support
