Overview

NOTE: This program is competitive; applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with evaluations and funding determinations made twice per year. ACT Grants Program (ID) Energize Our Neighborhoods supports the work of neighborhood associations, striving to build capacity and spark creativity in their community engagement efforts. The ACTIVATE. CONNECT. TRANSFORM. (ACT) grants provide up to $2,500 each fiscal year for neighborhood associations to host smaller projects and events, including neighborhood clean-ups, block parties, and communication efforts. Only recognized neighborhood associations in good standing are eligible to apply for these funds. A maximum of $2,500 may be awarded to an association each fiscal year (October 1 – September 30). Any improvements, events, or resources funded through this program must be located on public property and free and accessible to all residents. Grant Categories Neighborhood associations may apply for projects that fit within any of the funding categories below. There is no maximum or minimum number of applications a neighborhood association may submit within any grant cycle, or for the fiscal year, but the maximum amount of funding any neighborhood association can receive within a fiscal year is $2,500. Celebration – Brings together neighborhoods by engaging the community through events and placemaking activities like National Night Out, annual picnics, block parties, or festivals aimed at connecting residents. Communication – Supports the communication efforts of the neighborhood for annual meetings, website hosting, printing and meeting supplies. Community Service – Addresses a community need by making visible neighborhood-level change like neighborhood clean-up events, beautification efforts, sign maintenance, mural, and small community projects.
