Geographic Scope: Five boroughs of New York City

Funding Priority Areas:
The ABNY Foundation provides grants in two priority areas:

Economic Opportunity

Programs that:
• Focus on career training with tangible skill or accreditation at program completion
• Support small businesses, entrepreneurship, and vibrant commercial districts

Civic Engagement

Initiatives that:
• Remove barriers to civic participation
• Increase civic literacy and dialogue
• Cultivate the next generation of civic leaders

Award Amount: $10,000 per grant

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a small or mid-size nonprofit with 50 employees or less

Must provide direct services within the five NYC boroughs

Must be designated as 501(c)(3) under US Internal Revenue Code OR possess fiscal sponsorship from a registered 501(c)(3) organization

For-profit organizations are not eligible

Maximum of three consecutive annual awards - Previous grantees with three consecutive awards must wait one year before becoming eligible for a new grant

Grantee Benefits:

Application Deadlines:

May 31 (awards announced June 30)

October 31 (awards announced November 30)

Applications are reviewed twice per year.
