AAOMR: Annual Meeting Poster Awards Grant

The AAOMR Annual Meeting Poster Awards support graduate students in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology by recognizing outstanding research and clinical posters. Two awards are available annually: one for research and another for clinical topics. Applicants must present their posters to judges, with winners chosen by majority vote. Each awardee receives a $1000 prize and a certificate, announced during the AAOMR Annual Session, encouraging excellence and innovation in the field.

Purpose
These awards are intended to support graduate students in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Two awards are offered each year. One award is given to a student for the best Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology research poster and another award is given to a student for the best poster on a clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology topic.
Selection Criteria
Competing applicants are required to deliver a five-minute presentation of their poster in front of two judges selected by the Awards Committee. Whenever possible during this phase, the Awards Committee will pair judges from different institutions in a way to not have both judges graduated from the same program as the contestant. Certainly, a program director of a faculty from the applicant's current program will not be assigned for judging. Following the presentation, a five -minute question-and -answer session will be held. Each judging pair will rank their pool of posters and choose a finalist. Each finalist will then present to all judges for five minutes. The winners in each category (clinical and research) will be determined by majority vote among the judges. The recipients of the Research and Clinical Poster Awards will be selected and announced during the AAOMR Annual Session.

The recipient of each award will receive:

The Awardees will be announced and recognized at the Annual Session of the AAOMR.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:Enrolled in an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology graduate program at the time of the poster abstract submission. Member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the time of Abstract Submission and at the time of receiving the award.Only for US & Canadian OFMR Residents.Indication on the Abstract Submission Form that the applicant is interested in participating in the competition.
