Focus Areas: Support services, projects, and programs directed toward enhancing a thriving Jewish community in the city of Detroit and/or furthering the Jewish community's bond with the city

Objective: Further the revitalization of Jewish life in Detroit by supporting enrichment experiences and opportunities for Jewish individuals and families living in the city.

Grant Types: New initiatives and/or capacity building strategies

Application Timeline: Requests in this area are limited to submissions in the Spring for a Fall decision.

Board Priorities

Highest priority given to: * New programs with defined period addressing critical need * Evidence-based programs that are new or expanded offerings * Programs/services impacting residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties * Development and implementation of capacity building strategies (strategic planning, board/staff development, infrastructure enhancement, transition planning)

Board also prefers programs that:
* Have defined plan for sustainability beyond grant period
* Include financial or in-kind contribution from organization
* Involve collaboration with others
* Leverage multiple funding sources
* Have outcomes-based, measurable evaluation plan
* Can be funded and replicated by others

Does Not Fund

* Grants to individuals * Loans * Religious activities or sectarian education * Overseas projects * Capital projects or equipment purchases * Endowments, annual fund drives, fundraising events * Past operating deficits
