911 Trust Fund
The Maryland 9-1-1 Board oversees the state's 9-1-1 emergency communications system, including administration of the 9-1-1 Trust Fund and statutory compliance for the state's 24 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). Established under Public Safety Article §1-301 through §1-315, the Board's Trust Fund is self-funded through state and county 9-1-1 fees rather than state general fund appropriations, and supports Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) infrastructure, call-handling equipment (CPE), cybersecurity, training, and other approved public safety communications projects.
