2026 AAAAI Faculty Development Program

Program Duration: Four days

Overview: This four-day program on academic research and career development provides a unique opportunity for emerging physicians and scientists who are committed to an academic career in allergic diseases to receive individualized mentorship from established faculty.

What's Included:

  • Mentorship from established faculty

  • Small group breakouts on career development topics

  • Presentations on managing research teams, budgeting, publishing, work-life balance

  • Presentations on NIH grants and research funding processes

  • Invited participants will present planned, ongoing, or recently completed clinical, translational, or basic research
  • Covered Expenses:

  • Economy roundtrip airfare

  • Hotel accommodations

  • Travel to and from the airport

  • Meal reimbursements for meals not supplied during the program
  • Application Deadline: May 5, 2026, at 11:00 am CT

    Attendance Requirements: Participants must commit to attending the full duration of the program from 6:00 pm Thursday, September 10, 2026, to 11:30 am Sunday, September 13, 2026. Requests to arrive late or depart early will be denied.

    Deadline: May 5, 2026, at 11:00 am CT

    Eligibility Requirements: All applicants must currently meet ALL FOUR of the following eligibility requirements:

    1. Career Stage:
    - MD or MD/PhD: Senior Fellow-in-training (completed at least one year of fellowship and will still hold a training position at the time of the Program) OR Junior Faculty (graduated from a clinical allergy/immunology training program in 2021 or later and will hold a faculty position at a US or Canadian institution at the time of the Program)
    - PhD/post-doc: Junior Faculty (graduated from a PhD training program with a focus in allergy and/or immunology in 2021 or later and will hold a faculty position within an Allergy or Immunology-related division at a US or Canadian institution at the time of the program)

    2. Institutional Affiliation: Based at an accredited institution in the United States or Canada

    3. Membership: Member of the AAAAI

    4. Commitment: Committed to attending the full duration of the program

    Selection Criteria:

  • Priority will be given to applicants who have not participated in past Faculty Development Program or Hypersensitivity Summer School Programs

  • However, past participants who meet all eligibility criteria may apply
  • Application Requirements:

  • Applicants will be asked to provide a brief presentation of planned, ongoing, or recently completed clinical, translational, or basic research during the program
