An accomplished mountain climber, dedicated conservationist, and political activist, she served on the board of the Union of Concerned Scientists and was a devoted supporter of the Peterborough Players. She maintained residences in Hancock, New Hampshire and Peterborough, New Hampshire during her lifetime.
