He earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard College (1956) and a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School (1959). He led the Anwelt Shoe company and took a stake in Cole Haan, helping establish it as a recognized footwear and apparel company. He was inducted into the Footwear Industry Hall of Fame in 1996. Beyond his business career, Ansin was active in community organizations, serving as a Trustee of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts and the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, and as a member of the United Way of America's National Alexis de Tocqueville Leadership Council. He passed away on June 28, 2023.
