Latino Commission on Aids
TO DEVELOP AND PROMULGATE A STRATEGY TO ADDRESS THE AIDS EPIDEMIC WITHIN THE LATINO COMMUNITY. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE, THE COMMISSION WORKS TO: RAISE THE LATINO COMMUNITY'S CONSCIOUSNESS, AND THAT OF THE SOCIETY AS A WHOLE REGARDING HIV INFECTION AMONG LATINOS; SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCH, PREVENTION, EDUCATION AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR ALL LATINOS; PROMOTING THE LATINO COMMUNITY'S RIGHT TO FULL AND SPEEDY MEDICAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNMENTAL RESPONSES IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT HEALTH CRISIS, AND COMMENT AND EDUCATE ON THE ALLOCATION OF APPROPRIATE RESOURCES TO IMPACT COMMUNITIES, COMMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION AND PREVENTION THAT IS CULTURALLY SENSITIVE.
