Empower Dallas Foundation, inc. ("edf") is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes as defined in internal revenue code ("code") section 501(c)(3). Within the scope of the foregoing purposes, edf is organized and operated exclusively as a supporting organization within the meaning of code section 509(a)(3) to the dallas foundation ("tdf"), a Texas nonprofit corporation. Tdf is exempt under section 501(a) of the code as anorganization described in section 501(c)(3) of the code and is a "public charity" described in sections 170(b)(1)(a)(VI) and 509(a)(1) of the code. Tdf is the oldest community foundation in Texas and serves donors and nonprofits throughout North Texas. As a community foundation, tdf offers a range of ways for local philanthropists to assist the community, including donor advised funds, designated and agency endowment funds, field of interest funds, scholarshipfunds, and unrestricted funds.
