• College intern training, placement and support program — The organization selects college students from hundreds of applicants to participate in on-site training events and places them in internships with news organizations across the country. • College student scholarships — The organization provides scholarships to eligible college students who participate in the internship program.

• Early career training program — The organization selects nominated staff members with less than three years of newsroom experience to participate in online training once a week for four weeks, followed by two-day in-person sessions at the beginning and end of the program. The organization covers training and lodging costs.

The organization charges for-profit and non-profit news organizations a fee for each intern placed, with fees intended to subsidize training costs.
