Dr. Bruno was previously a Research Associate Professor in the Developmental Psychology Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Scientist at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. Her research focused on early care and education environments and school readiness skills of children living in families with low income. Her work included investigation of long-term outcomes of the Abecedarian Project and exploration of associations among race/ethnicity, income, parenting, childcare quality, and language development. Dr. Bruno currently serves on the editorial boards of the Early Childhood Research Quarterly and the Journal of Marriage and Family. She serves on the Board of Directors of Brady Corporation (Chair of the Governance Committee and member of the Finance Committee and Technology Committee) and on the Board of Trustees of the University of Rochester.
