Mission: Boston After School & Beyond connects school, after-school, and summer learning strategies so that young people have the opportunity to learn and thrive.

The organization operates under the principle that "the city is our classroom" and focuses on reimagining learning, expanding opportunity, and transforming outcomes for Boston children. Primary program areas include:

• Boston Summer Learning Project – Co-managed with Boston Public Schools, this initiative addresses summer learning loss by providing access to hundreds of summer programs annually, impacting nearly 17,000 Boston students. The program leverages teachers, community organizations, and Boston's natural, cultural, and neighborhood resources.

• After-School Programs – Coordinates a citywide network of school and community providers offering free and low-cost after-school learning opportunities across every Boston neighborhood, with programs spanning academic enrichment, arts, STEM, sports, literacy, college and career readiness, cultural identity, and outdoor exploration.

• Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) – Manages the Partnerships for Social and Emotional Learning Initiative (PSELI), funded by The Wallace Foundation in Boston and five other cities. This initiative improves students' social and emotional skills through collaborations among elementary schools and after-school program partners, incorporating assessment, professional development, and coaching for continuous improvement.

• Expanded Learning Opportunities for Teens – Developed in partnership with Boston Public Schools.
