WAS CREATED TO ENSURE THAT ADEQUATE FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT THE ARC ROCKLAND'S MISSION: "TO EMPOWER THE PEOPLE WE SUPPORT TO MAKE PERSONAL CHOICES AND REALIZE THEIR DREAMS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH RESOURCES TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN COMMUNITY LIFE." ON AN ONGOING BASIS, THE FOUNDATION REVIEWS FUNDING PROPOSALS FOR INITIATIVES REQUESTED BY THE ARC ROCKLAND, AND ARE AWARDED BASED UPON NEEDS AND GOALS THAT BEST SUIT THE ARC ROCKLAND'S MISSION. FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBERS WORK HAND-IN-HAND WITH THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS/DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OF THE ARC ROCKLAND TO ASSIST IN SEEKING AND SECURING FUNDS THROUGH SEVERAL SOURCES. THESE INCLUDE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GRANTS, CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS, INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS, PLANNED GIFTS, AND IN-KIND DONATIONS. IN ADDITION TO OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES, MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS SERVE AS AMBASSADORS TO THE BROADER COMMUNITY.
