Youth Program Grants

The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation offers Youth Program Grants to support initiatives that enhance youth development in Winnebago County. These grants prioritize projects that promote environmental education, establish new services for youth, strengthen existing programs, and provide adaptive equipment for children with disabilities. Eligible organizations include public charities and government agencies, while individuals and private schools are ineligible. The foundation aims to create better opportunities for children through these funding efforts.

Overview
The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is committed to creating better opportunities for children. In addition to education grants, the Community Foundation offers funding opportunities to charitable organizations that support youth development.
Youth Programs
Grants from a variety of youth-related field of interest funds held by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation typically support projects or programs that:

• Add to the development of youth through environmental education and/or outdoor learning experiences.
• Establish new services for youth where there is a documented need.
• Strengthen existing youth programs that show continued need, especially those that promote volunteerism and/or leadership skill development.
• Supply adaptive equipment or mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs to children with disabilities.

Eligibility

Geographic scope: Winnebago CountyOrganizations eligible to receive grants from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and its affiliated foundations are those determined by the IRS to be public charities.This encompasses most charitable, scientific, social service, educational, and religious organizations described in 501(c)(3) of the tax code, as well as government agencies.Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.
A fiscal sponsor is a 501(c)3 public charity that agrees to act as the sponsoring organization for a grantseeking nonprofit organization that does not have the 501(c)3 designation.The sponsor facilitates both the grant application and any expenditures of grant money received.You can apply for as many grants as you are eligible and may be selected to receive any or all.

IndividualsPrivate schoolsPrograms promoting religious activities or a specific journey of faith.Capital campaignsIndividual youth travel and exchange programs, including but not limited to Foreign Exchange, People to People International, and service club-sponsored programs.
