Program Type: Premier, nationally recognized Boys & Girls Clubs leadership program

Geographic Scope: Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica members (Santa Monica, Culver City, and surrounding West Side communities)

Target Audience:

• High school students (primary program)
• Middle school students (Jr. Youth of the Year program)

Program Overview:
Youth of the Year provides opportunities for young people to gain future-ready skills, share their stories, and compete for scholarships. The program runs throughout the fall with the final competition held in February.

• Develop public speaking skills
• Share unique personal story
• Connect with mentors
• Compete for scholarships up to $50,000
• Build confidence through fun workshops and supportive coaching
• Develop skills valued by colleges and employers

• Transform life experiences into launchpad for future success

Program Structure:
Fun workshops and supportive coaching throughout the fall season leading to final competition in February.

• Program runs: Fall season

2. Attend the September 16 info session to learn more
3. Register as a participant in the program
4. Participate in workshops and coaching throughout the fall
5. Compete in the final competition in February
