Youth Council Grant Program

AAACF's Youth Council is a group of 25 high school students living in Washtenaw County who come together to make a meaningful difference in the community through philanthropy and community service.

The Youth Council will typically distributes ~$110,000 in competitive grants to nonprofits delivering programs and services in Washtenaw County. The Youth Council analyzed the Needs Assessment which was completed in November of 2020 and decided to strategically focus their efforts on one issue area to maximize impact:

* Mental Health & Wellness: programs/projects which address depression, anxiety, self-harm, body image, academic stress and overall mental well-being for high school age youth (ages 13-18)

In addition, grants will be available for programs serving youth ages 5-18 which:

* Support the work of the Juvenile Division of the Probate Court
* Provide services for children living with disabilities
