Young Professionals Network (YPN)

Geographic Scope: Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (participants must reside in Washington, D.C. area)

  • Program Duration: September through May (9 months)

    Description: YPN is a professional development network that helps prepare the next generation of experts and leaders focusing on the Eurasia region. The program identifies young professionals who share EF's commitment to international engagement across the region and connects them with established professionals from various fields.

    Key Features:

  • Monthly events, roundtables, and happy hours in Washington, D.C.

  • Participation up to twice per month with influential diplomats, scholars, and journalists

  • Private briefings and Q&A sessions with Eurasia experts

  • Access to U.S. Ambassadors (retired), foreign policy experts, journalists, and embassy ambassadors

  • Alumni network represents 13+ countries from Eurasia region, collectively speaking 12 languages

  • As of 2024, program has engaged 250+ young and mid-career professionals
  • Eligibility:

  • Age: 22-33 years old

  • Education: Bachelor's degree minimum (Master's degree preferred)

  • Requirements: Demonstrable commitment to Eurasia region

  • Location: Must be living, studying, or working in Washington, D.C. and its suburbs for program duration

  • Citizenship: Open to all applicants regardless of citizenship

  • Employment: May work in government, media, military, private, or nonprofit sectors
  • What is NOT Provided:

  • No travel or relocation expense coverage

  • No stipend or scholarship funding

    Application Process

    2. Submit Required Documents:
    - Current resume
    - Cover letter describing how applicant will contribute to and benefit from the program
    - Letter of recommendation from current or former employer or professor addressing:
    - Applicant's motivation
    - Commitment to Eurasia region
    - Leadership qualities
    - Photo (for website use if selected)

    4. Reference Letter Option: Reference letter may be submitted:
