Overview: Award recognizing and celebrating area youth who are engaged in improving the quality of life in the region.

Geographic Scope: Charlotte/Canopy Realtor® Association service area

Eligibility:

  • Youth ages 10-18

  • Engaged in service to community

  • Demonstrating commitment to improving quality of life in region
  • Award Details:

  • Commemorative plaque

  • $500 charitable donation in recipient's name to charity of their choice
  • Recognition:

  • Recipient recognized at annual September Grant Awards presentation

  • Award presented at Foundation's annual Grant Awards presentation and/or recipient's school assembly
  • Program Purpose:

  • Encourage youth to address broad spectrum of community needs

  • Help young people realize their potential to impact others

  • Build stronger community through youth engagement
  • 2020 Recipient: Alexa Nicole Suarez (age 16) - Founded HILL Project (Hispanic Initiative for Literacy and Learning) to increase literacy and reduce high school dropout rates in Latino community

    2019 Recipients: Sisters Mykia (age 17) and Zarriah (age 15) White - Created Turning Point Teen Club to educate young people on teen dating abuse and healthy relationships
