City of Boston Women's Advancement We're uplifting the voices and advancing the lives of women and girls through City programs and policies. Women & Girls Mental Health Mini-Grant Grant Program Description The Mayor's Office of Women’s Advancement (MOWA) is excited to offer our Mental Health mini-grant that seeks to invest in programming that is focused on mental health for women and girls. Programming may focus on fostering social cohesion, establishing youth mentorship programs, mental health education or other activities/services that are proven to have a positive impact on an individual's mental health. In order to promote the breaking down of silos &/or innovative ideas we are accepting collaborative applications of 2 organizations. When applying in a duo both entities can submit an application requesting up to $10,000 which means the project could receive up to $20,000 total. By funding these programs, the City of Boston aims to promote holistic well-being among young women and girls—ensuring they have the tools and support needed to thrive. Collaborative Applicants Applications submitted by a lead applicant in partnership with multiple organizations will receive additional consideration. Applicants are strongly encouraged to collaborate with one another to work towards breaking down silos and developing innovative approaches to mental health. To request funds for your project greater than $10,000, the Lead Organization (Lead Applicant) and one additional partner organization (Supporting Applicant) must both submit applications requesting up to $9,999.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Applicants must: Be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that serves Boston residents. If you are not a 501(c)(3), you must partner with a tax-exempt fiscal sponsor in order to receive funding from the City. Have experience working with women and girls in the Boston area around mental health support, training, and services.Although this grant aims to support the mental health of residents who identify as women and girls, all funded programs must be open to Boston residents regardless of background.Have demonstrated the capacity to successfully execute the proposed programs, including sufficient staff, expertise, and resources.Ensure services are accessible and culturally responsive.Be in good financial standing and able to provide data to assess program impact.Be able to implement proposed services within the required timeline.

Ineligibility

Individuals or for-profit businesses, including those working with a fiscal sponsor, are not eligible.
