WNH Auxiliary Scholarship

Award Structure:
- Permanent resident or graduate of WNH primary service area (Sumner, Cowley, Chautauqua, and Elk counties)
- Accepted into an accredited university or college program in a healthcare field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher in good academic standing
- Maintain full-time status (12 hours or more per semester)
Eligibility Requirements
- Tuition and educational costs for healthcare-related degree programs at accredited institutions
What They Fund
- Non-healthcare fields
- Part-time enrollment (less than 12 hours per semester)
- Students not meeting 3.0 GPA requirement
What They Don't Fund
- Payments made directly to college/university financial aid office
- To receive second installment, student must submit personal letter by January 5 stating continued full-time enrollment (12+ hours) in healthcare field
- Refund requested if student fails to enroll/attend or switches to non-healthcare major
- Finalists may be interviewed by scholarship committee
- Committee may request official transcript at any time

Application Process
Deadline: March 31 (annual)
Required Materials:
1. Completed application form (available from Director of Volunteer's Office or area high school counselors' offices)
2. Signed letter from applicant stating:
- Intended healthcare vocation
- Reasons for interest in healthcare
- Knowledge of importance of the vocation
3. Copy of letter of acceptance as full-time student (12+ hours per semester) in accredited college/university healthcare program
4. Financial need statement
5. Three letters of recommendation (NOT from relatives/family members) attesting to applicant's interest in chosen healthcare field
6. Official transcript copy reflecting GPA of 3.0 or better
