The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is a state agency charged with building and strengthening Wisconsin's workforce in the 21st century and beyond. The Department's primary responsibilities include providing job services, training and employment assistance to people looking for work, at the same time as it works with employers on finding the necessary workers to fill current job openings. About Wisconsin Fast Forward The State of Wisconsin's Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) grant program is a nationally recognized, innovative talent development solution driven by Wisconsin businesses to train and retain highly skilled workers. Standard Grant funds support short-term and medium-term employer-led worker training projects that: Encourage increased collaboration between Wisconsin businesses and workforce training partners Fill current and ongoing skill requirements of Wisconsin employers Place workers in long-term positions with opportunities for professional growth and economic advancement. Expanded Grant funds support specialized projects which focus on providing key resources to support the future growth and evolving needs of the Wisconsin workforce. Past programs have included: Technical Education Equipment Grants Advanced Manufacturing Technical Education Grants Teacher Training and Recruitment Grants Nursing Training Grants Shipbuilders Training Grants Standard Wisconsin Fast Forward Grants The objective of the Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) standard grant program is to award funds to businesses from all Wisconsin industry sectors that reimburse the costs of customized occupational training for unemployed, underemployed, and incumbent workers. The customized, business-driven training will qualify workers for full-time employment, higher level employment, or increased wages. Health Care Sector Training Grants Open only to health sciences, health care, and related sectors. Grant Amount: Grant awards range from $5,000 to $400,000 per grantee. A grantee serving as an applicant for a consortium of employment placement partners may apply for more than $400,000. Partnerships: Grants require at least one employer and should include at least four partners.Eligibility
