Overview

Well Sealing Grants Hennepin County offers grants to seal wells that are no longer in use and have potential to contaminate groundwater resources. Unused and unsealed wells can pose a threat to our drinking water by acting as a channel between the surface and the aquifer below. If you have a well on your property that is not in use, it must either be sealed or put back into service. Funding availability Property owners can be reimbursed for up to 75 percent of the cost to seal wells that are no longer in use, up to a maximum reimbursement of $2,000 per well. Matching funds 25% cash match
