Wayne County Community Foundation Scholarships

Geographic Scope: Wayne County, Ohio

Eligibility:

• Graduating high school seniors
• Current college students
• Non-traditional students

Key Information:

• Scholarships are created and designed by individual donors with varying eligibility and selection criteria
• No two scholarships are the same
• One application form considered for all eligible opportunities
• May be prompted for supplemental questions, essays, or recommendation letters
• Complete applications required; missing information may disqualify applicants

Application Period: December 15 - March 15 each year

Special Note: Law school-specific scholarships have deadline of May 31

Award Uses: Tuition and fees (not room and board), books, supplies, equipment directly required for courses. IRS considers other uses taxable income.

Award Distribution: Checks issued in July prior to new school year, made payable to school account (not individuals)

Application Process

Complete one Universal Scholarship Application (December 15 - March 15) through Online Scholarship Portal to be considered for all eligible opportunities.

Application Steps

1. Create account on Online Scholarship Portal
2. Complete Universal Scholarship Application as thoroughly as possible
3. During process, may be prompted to:
   • Answer supplemental questions
   • Write additional essays
   • Request letters of recommendation
4. View eligibility for all available opportunities
5. Submit by March 15 deadline (or May 31 for law school scholarships)

• Letters of recommendation if required
